T, I've been following your blog for a long (long) time and I'm so excited that you have Eme safe at home. I'm sorry she is have a tough time grieving but like you said, things have to get better. She is so, so, so adorable and it is so fabulous to see her in your arms. Hang in there through the rough time!

Things WILL get better! Once you can get some rest life will be so much happier and more bearable! The Jet Lag really kicks your butt. I am sorry your precious girl is suffering so much. It is such an adjustment for those darling little ones to adjust. She is a survivor and with your and J's love and support she will be fine. Unfortunately it just takes time.
I remember those days so well when we came home from China with our daughter. It at times was more than she could bear and my heart just broke as I felt so helpless. I just wanted to take away all the hurt but couldn't. Day by day it got better. Hang in there you will get through all of this!!

Long-time reader of your blog and have followed your very long wait and finally, your joyful trip to China to meet your daughter. No experience in this area, but I did want to let you know you have so many people thinking positive thoughts for you and your family. The look on your boys' faces as they play with their baby sister gives me goose bumps; I can really "feel the love." As her Mama, I know you'll do whatever you must to get Eme through this. I wish you and yours all the best, T.

Things WILL get better. I don't think anything prepares you to hit the ground running when you get back to 'normal' life. In China you could focus totally on Eme and she still had many familiar sounds and smells around her. Now of course the only familiar to her is you and J. and you are not that familiar to her. Plus now you cannot focus on Eme 100% of the time because you have to get on with life too. I actually felt awful when Hannah came home since I was so used to our orphanage visits where we just played. When she was home I remember thinking I seemed to spend so little time with her even though she was in the house with me!

It is so, so hard and you must also be horribly jet lagged as well. It will get easier, it really will.

Thinking of you all.

Amazing children these little ones of ours.
And like the petals of a flower, Emerson's beauty and personality will continue to unfold before your eyes.

LOVE Emerson in her hat! Her eyes show what a sweet soul she is ~ things will calm down, but the jet lag is a killer ~ when you feel a bit better and rested, you will better be able to deal. Take care!!
